Alpine's Community of Kindness

“Always take the smaller piece.  Let others go first.  Always share with others.”

“You can find someone who is lonely and make friends with them.  When Someone comes to your house they can choose the game.  I can help someone when they get hurt.”

“One kind act a day means a lot to me.  Why you might ask?  Well it is because I feel so good when I do something kind for someone.  It can just be saying please and thanks, or cleaning up after yourself.  You can just do simple things and it can make someone’s day.  I always feel joy when someone does something kind for me!  So let’s all try to do something kind.  Be a bucket filler.  This is what this quote means to me.”

“I’ve been inspired by the city’s efforts and am looking forward to what the schools are going to do. I have seen many kind acts by our city committee setting all of this up. Go BE KIND!”

“I love this community. My husband dropped an envelope of money out of his coat pocket when he went to walk the dog. I saw on this Facebook page that the money had been turned in to the police. Thank you for being a wonderful community. Appreciate all the good people around here.”

“People were knocking on the door at Halloween for treats. Then we went to the door and then we opened the door.  Kids wanted more candy than they got.  Then we gave them candy from our candy bags. We shut the door.  We heard more knocks.  We were running to the door and gave more kids candy from our bags.”

I would like to give a shout out to the members of the Buy Nothing Alpine and Highland South Facebook group.  We are 702 members who are offering daily acts of kindness to one another.  They are giving freely of their time, services, and possessions each and every day.

I inadvertently dropped my wallet at the same Walmart on Sunday. Retraced my steps and talked to a few of the employees but was unable to find it. Heavy-hearted, I began to walk out past the cashiers and was stopped by an employee because somebody had just turned in my wallet! Not even a dollar was missing. So grateful for the honest person who turned it in!!”

To the woman who paid for my groceries at Walmart (Cedar Hills) last night; thank you.
I was in the process of checking out and was already putting stuff back due to my husband recently losing his job. I started walking away, embarrassed that I couldn’t pay for the items. When this sweet woman called out and said “How much is it”, I told her the total and no questions asked said “I’ll pay for it”
I don’t think I’ve ever cried so hard because of the kindness of a stranger. Thank you, again!”
