Alpine City has pledged to become a Certified Kindness City.  This means that we will promote intentional acts of kindness by the citizens of our city in accordance with the Semnani Foundation. 

Our Approach


 
Alpine City has adopted the following resolution:​
ALPINE CITY
RESOLUTION NO. R2024-23

A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING AND PROMOTING A DAY OF KINDNESS

WHEREAS, Alpine City, Utah (the “City”) is committed to fostering a positive and inclusive community spirit; and
WHEREAS, recognizing the importance of kindness in promoting unity, compassion and goodwill among residents; and
WHEREAS, designating a specific day as the “Day of Kindness” will provide an opportunity for community members to actively engage in acts of kindness, thereby contributing to the overall well-being of our city; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds it is in the best interest of the City and the general health, safety, and welfare of its residents that this resolution should be passed.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF ALPINE CITY AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1: Establishment of the Day of Kindness
(a) Alpine City hereby establishes April 12th as the official yearly “Day of Kindness.” (This is the official and legislated day for the State of Utah – “One KindAct a Day” Day)
(b) The Day of Kindness is intended to promote and celebrate acts of kindness, generosity, and compassion within the community.

Section 2: Community Engagement
(a) The City encourages residents, businesses, schools, and community organizations to actively participate in the Day of Kindness by organizing and engaging inactivities that promote kindness and compassion.

Section 3: Public Awareness
(a) The City will promote awareness of the Day of Kindness through various communication channels, which may include but not be limited to, social media, local news outlets, and the City’s official website.

Section 4: Implementation
(a) The city administrator is hereby directed to take all necessary actions to implement the provisions of this resolution, including coordination with community stakeholders and the allocation of resources as deemed necessary.

Section 5: Annual Review
(a) The City Council shall conduct an annual review of the impact and success of theDay of Kindness and may, as deemed appropriate, make adjustments to future celebrations.
